How Mtuft helps you sell – a sales scenario

The team at Heritage Carpets are the experts. They know carpets backwards and they have a prestigious list of clients and projects to their name. There is, however, one client who has eluded them - Skyline Hotels, a boutique chain known for luxury accommodation.

Skyline Hotels is planning to refurbish its flagship hotel and has briefed three carpet manufacturers, including Heritage, on the design and colour palette for the carpets in the lobby area. Get this right and it opens the possibility of supplying carpet for the refurbishment of all Skyline hotels.

The design and development team at Heritage get to work. When it comes time to translate their designs into carpet, they have an advantage over their competitors – a new Modra Mtuft G2 tufted carpet sample machine. The Mtuft machine makes carpet samples that replicate their production machines' capabilities. While their competitors are busy negotiating with their factory managers to stop production so they can schedule time on the production machines to make samples, Heritage already has their Mtuft machine running non-stop, making and refining designs.

Well within the deadline, Heritage is ready to present the final design ideas to Skyline. In a break from the usual, Heritage invites the Skyline team to come to their Boardroom for the presentation. The reason for this? Next to the Boardroom is the “Design Room” where the new Mtuft G2 machine is set up because experience tells them the client always wants to make changes.

Throughout the presentation, the Heritage team engages the Skyline Executives in the design process, soliciting their input and adjusting. They discuss colours, pile heights, and final product weights, ensuring every aspect aligns perfectly with Skyline's vision of elegance and durability. But then the Skyline Executives come up with the inevitable “If only you could show us this with a slightly lighter blue rather than the dark blue?”.

No problem is the Heritage team's reply. Skyline selects a lighter blue from Heritage’s colour library. The head designer swaps out the single package of dark blue yarn for a package of light blue yarn and sets the Mtuft running while they go grab a coffee, and talk about volumes and delivery dates.

Within the hour the new carpet sample in the lighter blue yarn is complete, and the Skyline team has everything they need to decide. They are impressed by the craftsmanship and attention to detail that Heritage demonstrated, and the speed with which they could view and approve a new set of samples.

By the conclusion of the meeting, Heritage not only clinched the deal for the lobby carpets with Skyline but also garnered their admiration and trust. The demonstration of creating a bespoke carpet sample on-site has not only met but exceeded their expectations. This showcased Heritage Carpets' dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, as well as the power of the Mtuft G2 machine in securing trust and contracts.

And wouldn’t you know it, they went with the dark blue anyway.
